2015 Blooms of the British Isles
The exhibit is a showcase for M&S UK flower growers and British floriculture, showing the different ways in which seasonal British flowers are produced.
There is a long tradition of flower growing in the UK: many of these nurseries have been in the same family for generations and growing flowers for many decades, focused on the counties of Lincolnshire, Hampshire and Norfolk, where most of the UK’s cut and potted flowers are grown.
We used many heritage blooms and varieties of stocks, tulips, alliums and peonies, which have been popular for hundreds of years, contrasted with modern techniques of micro-propagation to grow moth orchids under glass in the UK.
