CREATING A GARDEN

From a full garden redesign and construction, to a new patio or a refresh of planting – we can help. Whilst the design is obviously very important, the success of the garden is hugely influenced by the quality and accuracy of its’ interpretation on the ground.

At the end of the design process we can build the garden for you, or we can oversee its’ construction and planting by your own contractors. We try to make the transition from drawing board to building site to finished garden as seamless as possible. When we design a garden we are aware of the constructional implications of what we propose. When we build it we already understand how it is to be created and how it should look at the end.

As required we will produce construction detail drawings that explain the detail to clients and guide as to how they should be built on site.

HARD LANDSCAPING

Over the years we have acquired huge experience in the use of a wide range of landscape materials and pride ourselves on the quality of our construction.

Our full time landscape team forms the core to any construction project but we will bring in others to support us where needed including bricklayers, carpenters, electricians and plumbers.

The hard landscape construction forms the permanent physical framework to the garden & forms the backdrop in which the planted garden can be enjoyed.

The interface between building & garden is really important to a successful design solution and the hard landscape is crucial to this. So too is the way we enclose, access & move around a space & create features within the garden.

SOFT LANDSCAPING

There are several stages to the successful establishment of soft landscape within the garden:

Preparatory Works:

Understanding the importance of good preparation of soft landscaping areas is key to the successful establishment of new lawns and planting in the garden, especially when the garden has been used as part of a construction site, as is so often the case.

Turfing & Wildflower Meadow Planting:

As well as laying standard lawn turf we are accredited installers of species rich, wild flower turf products grown by Wildflower Turf Ltd., who have supplied RBG Kew and the Olympic Park in Stratford amongst many others.

Irrigation:

We also install irrigation systems ranging from simple ‘soakahose’ through to fully automated, multi-zoned systems.

Plant Selection:

As horticulturalists with a life long love of plants, we have a wide knowledge of reliable and easily maintained plants that flourish in local gardens and always work with the planting tastes of our clients to ensure that they get the garden and the plants that they love.

Over the years we have built up a great network of trusted plant growers and suppliers who can source and supply a huge range of top quality plants including rare and specimen sized plants.

Our planting skills range from sowing seeds and planting seedlings, carefully tended to maturity to dealing with mature specimens for an instant landscape.

Maintenance

Once your garden has been built and planted, we offer different levels of garden maintenance services.
